Carmen  Novoa was born in Montevideo Uruguay, were she studied plastic art.

She continues in Melbourne study art at the Hunt Club Art Centre under Robert Mangion.

Carmen is currently the coordinator of the Spanish and Latin American Artists of Melbourne.

One of the highlights of Carmen’s career was to be first to hold an art exhibition at the Parliament House in 2002, then again in 2004, she also coordinates the art exhibition at the Johnston Street “Fiesta” every year in the Spanish club.

Carmen has written a book titled Evasion/Evasion which is a bilingual publication of poems in English and Spanish, a few of which have earned her literary awards in Australia and Uruguay.

Some of the art exhibitions coordinated by Carmen involve poetry reading at the opening and closing of events.

Artist’s Palette magazine published 7 pages of Carmen’s works and a painting demonstration.

Carmen has exhibited her art in the following venues;

The Pablo Neruda Festival, painted in relation to Pablo Neruda’s poetry

Carmen next exhibition is host of “Voices of tango” relates the famous tango lyrics illustrated in mixed media and sculpture and also played in the music and dance at the same in the exhibition. Consulate of Uruguay in Victoria supports the annual event.
